Each month, we will be spotlighting a powerful read that reflects our values—stories that inspire, educate, and connect us to our shared pursuit of justice, growth, and community wellness. Whether it’s fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or memoir, these titles lift up voices that deserve to be heard and fuel the kind of conversations that move us forward.
This month’s book pick is called This Book Will Make You An Artist by Ruth Millington and Ellen Surrey. This Book Will Make You An Artist explores the lives, styles, and creative approaches of influential artists throughout history while encouraging readers to see creativity as something accessible, personal, and deeply human.
Through interactive prompts, visual inspiration, and stories from artists across different eras and movements, the book invites readers to experiment, reflect, and develop their own creative voice. Rather than treating art as something reserved for experts, it emphasizes curiosity, expression, and the importance of creative confidence.
The book serves as a reminder that creativity is not just about talent. It’s about observation, exploration, and having the courage to try something new.
